Eascotts Nursing Home provides accommodations for up to 59 residents, bordering on the Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire countryside. The Home is located in the hamlet of Calford Green, south of the larger village of Kedington which is about 3 miles away from the town of Haverhill. Cambridge University and West Suffolk College is about 17 miles on opposite directions.
The Home has been established for almost 30 years now. It is comprised of 3 units namely Rose (main building) which is an Edwardian style building with loads of character. This unit mainly cater for the more mobile residents (residential clients). It houses 21 residents in total and benefits from the view of the greens and the gardens. It has 3 newly refurbished rooms all en-suite.
The Home had been extended for the first time to build the Lavender Unit. Lavender is now comprised of 2 buildings of which the new addition was only opened in March, 2013. It still has 15 rooms which now looks after our clients with Mental Health needs. This includes Dementia of varying stages. All 15 rooms in this unit are all en-suite.
The Home was again extended through the years to build the now Jasmine Unit. It has 21 rooms in total with 10 of them very spacious and benefits from en-suite facilities. Jasmine caters for the most medically vulnerable clients. It benefits from beautiful views of the fields at the back and the greens at the front.
All buildings are linked by well lit, airy corridors.
The new addition to our buildings is the Orangery which can be found as soon as you enter the Home's premises. We aim to make full use of this for tea afternoons, training or for private moments with friends and relatives this summer of 2014.
Eastcotts Nursing Home is still growing. Plans for another conservatory to serve as a sun lit day room, possibly a designated training room, new laundry area and kitchen extension are on the way.
